Dolphins

We have been investigating poems using  and experimenting using alliteration and metaphors so far.  Tomorrow we are going to incorporate similes, so keep watching.  Here’s our first poem, what pictures does this poem conjure?  We have yet to give it a title, do you have any ideas?

Sparkling, splashing, sinking, sway

The ripples talk to me.

Glittering, glowing, giant, gentle

Waves chase the boat to the shore.

Banging, bubbly, brightening, blue

Shells snap to you.

Wavy, waving, wailing, wildly

The wind whistles.

Calling  Class 11: I have just had confirmation from First News, read the extract of the message to me, sent yesterday.

..I just wanted to let you know that we will be featuring the Titanic Report in the issue on sale 17th June...

So your article will be in the issue on 17th June 2011.  How does this make you feel then?  Send me your comments and an extract from your holiday diary about today’s news.  Please post it on the blog and if you wish you can copy your post into an email and send it to me as part of your holiday homework.

Class 11 after working so hard guess what we are going to work even harder!  Are you up for the challenge?

You have managed to create the most amazing adverts and leaflets, so I am asking you to create some on the blog.

It can be for a product or place of your own choice.  Remember the features that you need to include: -

word play, snappy slogan, exaggeration, appealing adjectives, benefits, intriguing questions and so on…

Also we need to research about the rainforest.  Let’s see what facts you can find out about!  You might want to think about combining the two e.g. create a persuasive poster/advert/leaflet about the rainforest.

Happy creating, I am looking forward to seeing your ideas.  Oh and by the way, what persuasive feature could I have included on this post?

One loud ,noisy  morning  everyone  was screaming and shouting  on the  harbour  the titanic the largest, most grandest  ever made by man  was  about to launch. Everyone was waving to their friends and relatives one girl was walking on the bridge no one was waving at her and she felt upset her name was Lucy Williams.”Hello and welcome on the titanic are you 1^st, 2nd, or 3rd class and have you got your ticket, “said the ticket man standing at the door of the ship. “Well I’m 1^st class and here is my ticket,” she explained. When she got in the titanic she was offered a cup of tea she said she did not want one but she got one. When she got in the 1^st class cabin she was impressed  with the room and how clean it was .That afternoon she had dinner with a next door neighbour, the next door neighbour`s  name was Polly. Her friend was in second class and she was called Kasey and she had dinner next to her husband max. Later she had tea and went to her cabin and went to bed.

The next day she walked all over the titanic and she was even more impressed. She saw her friend below her “hi Kasey where`s max,”she shouted “he`s in a bar see you later!”She shouted back. Polly came over and told her to have a walk with her.  That night she missed her friend and then she went to sleep.

The next day, Lucy went and saw max and Kasey and she had breakfast with them. Then she went and read a book in the libey that night she had a long day so she dozed off.

“BANG BANG BANG!!! Get your life jackets on wake up quick go to the deck and wait there!”Shouted a crew member Polly, Lucy, max and Kasey woke up with a start and they did as they were asked and soon they were on the deak.”Why are we here max I’m tired what’s happening, “said Kasey to max Polly and Lucy were scared to and this man told them what happened and the same to max and Kasey. 5 mins later the bow was in the water max, Polly, Lucy and Kasey were all in the same lifeboat. As we watched the titanic sinking Lucy nearly cried finally we were at the carpathia and soon the carpathia arrived in New York and me and my friends lived happily in New York.

Dolphins are water creaters and they have long fins what point up. Dolphins need to jump up out of the water because they need to breath not like other fish because they can breath under water. Did you know that Dolphins can live up to 15 years old! I got this picture off a website called Wylio.
